SRT QUESTION AND A TRUE LIFE INCIDENT- A Snake in the bath room

There is one question that is asked in SSB Interview in
    Situational Reaction Test (SRT)
What would you do if you see a snake in your bath room?
Some candidates write it as follows:-
I will close the door and call the snake catcher to catch it and leave it in a safe area.
I will throw a towel and it and catch the snake and leave it out side.
    ( BULLSHIT)
This morning at 7:00 am, i went to the toilet,
I do not know how the hell a KRATE snake of 15 inches long was seen trying to climb the wall.
I am a retd army officer
    a trained commando
    Twice bitten by snakes
    Hospitalised for 1 month
My reaction quickly shut the door
went out picked a Stick with which i could kill it
( lest it bites the others in the house)
Wore my leather shoes in a hurry and
hit the snake on its head, ( well it was little scary)
a bite by a Karate ( katuvirayan) will cause blood to clot and will cause death. slowly and painfully.
I later showed it to the inmates of the house and gave a Royal Burial.
    So the
    CORRECT ANSWER would be
KILL it as quickly as possible
    NO BRAVADO
I was lucky it did not bite me.
But I kept asking my self how the hell it got into the bathroom?????
    can snake climb a wall?

What happens just before the Conference at the S S B Interview?

After a hard fought battle at the Services Selection Board Interview,
all the candidates are assembled at one room. One by one they would be called to the conference room. This is the only time, the candidates get a chance to see the complete selection board, Defence Officers in Uniform.

The officers are ready with their laptops and your JANAM KUNDLI is being discussed in threadbare.
Here the President asks the officers who assessed the candidate to give out their finding about the performance of the candidate.
This is generally in the form of Marks that they had awarded to the candidate about to be discussed.

In order to qualify the SSB, the candidate is expected to get 40 % from assessor.
Here in comes the first verdict
Each of the selectors would have given out their findings in form of the marks. ( The fifteen qualities have been transformed into forms) And Factor wise your performance would be marked.

    RECOMMENDED CANDIDATE:
     Model
    GTO : 90 / 225
    Psych : 92 / 225
    IO :    100 / 225

A very happy situation. The candidate would now be called inside the conference hall.
Pleasantries exchanged.  Customary Questions asked. The candidate is now bid goodbye.

    Case TWO:
    NOT RECOMMENDED

    GTO:  54
    Psych: 64
    IO:      72

The candidate would now be called inside the conference hall.
Pleasantries exchanged.  Customary Questions asked. The candidate is now bid goodbye.

    Case Three:-
    BORDER LINE CASE:

    GTO : 72
    PSYCH : 90
    IO : 82

In this case  only one has cleared the candidate ( i,.e found fit to be recommended)

The total marks here is 246
Above 240 marks the candidates case would be discussed. This takes some time
They now have a look at the Factors and marks awarded.
If they come to an agreement that the candidate does possess qualities and can be pushed through, they increase the conference marks awarded and he is RECOMMENDED.

The candidate would now be called inside the conference hall.
    Pleasantries exchanged.
A SRT or a Question that IO had asked the candidate during the personal interview may be asked again to see how he reacts and answers this question/ s
If he answers in a satisfactory manner, he is Recommended.

Customary Questions asked. The candidate is now bid goodbye.
This is what the selectors call as Border line cases.
To confess most of the candidates who gets recommended now-a-days belong to this category.

Now you know  what happens behind the Screen.
    All the best
Do well Get recommended and become an officer

Group discussion- Topic One. Should Military Training be made compulsory in India for its Youth?

SHOULD MILITARY TRAINING BE MADE COMPULSORY IN INDIA?
    Debate points YES and NO

i am going to focus on a very serious issue that should military training be made compulsory for youth?

India is a country with a lot of patriotic tales shining in its history.
We are the one where the first thing that a child learns is to live for his country.
The schools have a curriculum to plant patriotism in our children.
But if this is true then why are the Indian students not willing to join the armed forces?
Why they want to study & settle down in abroad?
Why the young ones are more focused in achieving personal goals?
The Indian armed forces are lacking the youth with will & wisdom to protect the honour of the country.
What should be done to encourage the youth to work towards national progress & help the country achieve its goals?
In certain countries in the world, their citizens are required to serve the nation for a specified period of time as military personnel.
Can we do the same in our country?
      yes, we can.
Providing basic military training to the youth will result in a better and well motivated youth which can serve the country at the time of requirement.
     Facts to support my idea.
In the Indo-Pak war of 1965, when the forces were in need of  supply.
A bunch of motivated youths in the form of civil defense rendered their services in maintaining the law and order.
It was certainly a great help to the police and administration to keep a check of war measures like black out etc during the air attack.
The military training will result in a youth capable to withstand any challenge.
The youths can serve the nation in case of an emergency.
Moreover there are other advantages of providing military training.
The training will motivate our youth to serve the country and will help in cultivating the feeling of patriotism in the youth. It is well known that discipline is necessary for success and achieving the goals
. This military training will develop a trained and better organized youth which will yield better results in all the fields.
Under this scheme i propose that all the citizens should mandatory be imparted with the military training. T
he training should include basic knowledge of arms, survival during critical situations and escape procedures during disasters.
The youth should be given primary knowledge of the natural as well as man-made disasters and the procedures to tackle such situation effectively. T
he programs like National Cadet Corps (NCC) & National Scout & Guide should be practiced at large scale in all the institutions.

I am opined that the school curriculum should be amended accordingly to include this training from the gross root level. This will definitely help in motivating the youth to join the armed forces who are in real need of youth in all the ranks.

    NO

    In India,
the Defence Service is Not Compulsory
    It is voluntary in nature.
IN INDIA the main advantage is its human resource

When  we have a huge man power, we need to feed all these ?
if you take away the cream Youth to serve the country, who is going to feed it?
Do you think the old people will be able to do it.

A NO is the answer. we need
    Persons to produce FOOD
Wpns, Vehicles and other necessary items that are required for fighting a war.

If we do not train people in inventions and research, where are we going to get the expertise?
should we depend on other countries?

To day we talk of achievement in SPACE technology, will this be possible if we take away the youth for Defence service and waste the BRAIN in patrolling the borders and neglect technology??
think, should be it be at the cost of our improvement???

    NO, NO and NO

Military service should not be made compulsory , if we want INDIA to become a super power.

Every week we will discuss a new topic

    all are welcome
