How to prepare for attending the Services Selection Board Interview?

How to prepare for attending the Services Selection Board Interview?

Often many candidates ask me this particular question, let me try and explain a few points that one must bear in mind before appearing for the SSB Interviews:-

The Defence Forces act at least 6 months in advance before a particular entry is called for.
Hence it is better to start your preparation as early as possible.

Your Physical Fitness:-

1. Eye sight : If you are appearing for a Aviation Entry, then your eye sight should be nearly 6/6
- 0.5 is acceptable for Transport and Helicopter pilots
For fighter pilots it should be 6 /6
2. No colour blindness ( Get it checked up at any eye hospital)
3. No Knock Knee
4. No flat foot
5. No additional growth any where in your body
6. Check your dental status ( one or two dentures acceptable)
7. Fill all dental cavities
8. You should not tattooed your body . ( a few minor tattoo inside the arm may be acceptable)
9. Nasal obstruction, ear wax etc should be removed.
10. Get yourself a full body check up.

It is better to appear for Direct selection ( in case you have decided to go in for short service commission)
For Permanent better option would be
NDA ( After +2 )
CDSE ( After Degree )

Air force conducts its own entrance test- AFCAT + EKT for Engineers
