1. Applications are invited from FEMALE CANDIDATES (only) for admission to 4 years B Sc. (Nursing) course commencing in 2018 at Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services. Based on the merit cum choice, (subject to vacancy in each College) the candidates will be awarded admission in Colleges of Nursing.

Selected candidates shall execute an agreement/Bond to serve in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) for 5 years. On successful completion of Nursing Training (4years), the candidates will be granted permanent/short service commission in the Military Nursing Service, under the terms and conditions laid down for grant of such commission. They shall have to refund the bond money as per the bond executed in the event of withdrawal from the course, termination of training or refusal to accept commission in the MNS, if offered.


During training they will be provided with
a) free ration,
b) accommodation
c) uniform allowance
d) monthly stipend
as per existing terms and conditions as amended from time to time.
  Subsequent to passing the final year University examination for B Sc (Nursing) course, the candidates will be offered a commission in the Military Nursing Service subject to medical fitness. The date of declaration of result from respective Universities will be the date of commissioning for the candidates. The date of commission determines the date of seniority in service among all candidates who have joined the course in the same year.

 2. Eligibility Conditions:

(a) Female candidates who are unmarried/divorcee/legally separated or widow without encumbrances.
(b) Nationality – Indian
(c) Date of Birth – Between 01 Oct 1993 to 30 Sep 2001 (both days inclusive).
(d) Educational Qualification – Candidates must have passed in the first attempt, Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent (12 Years schooling) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) and English with not less than 50% aggregate marks as a regular student from a Statutory / Recognized Board /University/ Examination Body.
Candidates who will be appearing for final year of qualifying examination during the current academic session may also apply provisionally. The candidates finally selected for the course will have to submit proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite subjects and marks before joining the course.

(e) Physical standards - Medical fitness will be determined as per standards applicable for commission in the Armed Forces. X-Ray examination of Chest and USG (of abdomen & pelvis) will be done. Minimum height should not be less than 148 cm (relaxed by 5cm in case of north East candidates). 3. Selection: Eligible applicants will be called for an objective type written test of 90 minutes duration likely to be held in Feb 2018,

Candidates as per merit on the basis of written test will be called for interview during May 2018.

Final selection will be based on combined merit of written test & interview, subject to medical fitness. Admission to Colleges of Nursing will be offered in accordance with the merit cum choice subject to vacancy in each College.


4. Medical Examination: After the interview, the recommended candidates will appear for medical examination before a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT will be informed by the President of the Medical board including the procedure of requesting for APPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.

5. Written Examination Centres : Agra, Ambala, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandimandir, Chennai, Danapur, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jhansi, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Meerut, Mumbai, Secunderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Ezhimala (Cannanore) , Pune and Wellington.

Note : If the number of candidates is inadequate/more than the capacity of a centre, the candidates opting for that centre will be allotted the centres of their second/third choice or any one of the above, mentioned centers as per the administrative feasibility. No correspondence/requests regarding change of centre from any candidate will be accepted.

6. How to apply: 

 Candidates may apply online and pay the application fee online only through www.joinindianarmy.nic.in which will be accessible from 11 Dec 2017 to 30 Dec 2017. 

 The candidate’s E-mail ID is the user ID for this website and the candidate will select their own password. It is mandatory for the candidate to give one live contact mobile number for correspondence.
Only the Eligible candidates will be able to pay the online application processing fee of Rs 150/- . On successful completion of online payment a bank reference number (DU Number) will be generated for the future correspondence of the candidate. (The last date for online submission of application & online payment of fees will be 30 Dec 2017).

The admit card for the written test can be generated online by the candidate wef 15 Jan 2018.

Important Note:- 

 Receipt of DU Number is not the criteria for successful payment.  For successful payment please check the account form which the transaction is done for deduction of the amount of the application fee. 

 Always take the printout of the Payment done page with you and read it carefully before completing the submission of online application form. 

 For receiving the admit card it is mandatory to have successful payment done and to enter the Correct DU number.  It is candidate’s responsibility to ensure successful payment of the application processing fee.

 Applications sent by post will not be accepted. The selection of the candidate for B Sc. (Nursing) will however be subject to producing of the original mark sheet/certificate of the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or equivalent before final selection and meeting all other eligibility criteria.

The selected candidates if found not in possession of documents /mark sheets as per eligibility criteria, at the institution in which they report, the admission is liable to be cancelled. In such cases no TA will be applicable. Duplicate submission of application will be summarily rejected without refund of the money. It is mandatory for the candidates to submit only one active E-mail ID and one mobile number for all future correspondence with us. Candidates must remember their E-mail ID & password for further correspondence. 

7. The aforesaid conditions are subject to modification, if deemed necessary.
8. No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates with regard to either the receipt of applications/ status of applications/ details or reasons of rejected applications.

Ways to become an officer from Soldier to General

Dear die hard aspirants, here is an information that is known to a very few, a route that is difficult and less traveled
Is it really possible to become a General by joining in the Army as a Soldier?
The Answer is YES
If there is a will, there is a way.
To become an officer by joining in the ranks (i.e as a Soldier/ Sailor / Airmen / Navik / Constable or whatever is the lowest cadre in which one joins the forces) is time consuming and very challenging.
At the outset, I would like to tell you it is difficult, requires a lot of Hard work, dedication and persevaration.If you are prepared to take up this journey, then here is the way:-
How to Start?
The best way is to get into forces via, NDA / 10 + 2 Tech entry straight after +2. But, the catch is the UPSC written exam, JEE even the +2 Board Exam is difficult unless you have a previlage of being educated in Good institution and you are able to take coaching, it would be difficult,
Let us assume, you are a mediocre student and is average in studies then the easier way is to join the forces at the lowest level.
Let us start our journey from Soldier to General:-
During Class X : Here the student if he is good in Science Subjects, must take up Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main group and qualify in class XII
Now the age limit to become a Solider ( or whatever lowest rank is) From 17 years to 23 years. (The earlier is the better) Once you have decided then start building your stamina to achieve the following standard:-

Once a candidate is able to get selected in Physical Tests, he now moves on to Mental Ability Tests.
There are two different entries, 1. Technical Entry, 2. Non- Technical entry
For Technical entry one has to have Science Back ground
For Non-Technical Entry one can have non-science background in class XII
Stage - II Written Test:
This test is held immediately after the physical in case of IAF and Navy, but the Army gives about 1 month preparation time

In order to come in merit one must score as high as possible

Once your name comes up in Merit you are issued a joining instruction to report to the Branch Recruting office from where you get your Free Ticket to report to the Training Center
The training at the respecting training centres will vary from 1 year to 2 years
The best thing about this training is from the day you report to the training centre your service is counted, unlike Officers entry where your service is counted only from the date of COMMISSIONING
